e best fit for my play-style. He was not wrong! This pickup has plenty of telecaster attributes -- bite and brightness, plus snarl when called upon. Using finger-style, the pickup will dial down its bite -- but just enough to let you know it is there...waiting. Kind of like being in a muscle-car and you know there's plenty more power if you push the gas pedal. If you use a pick play-style and like to drive your tone, I hope your seat belt is fastened.

clarity and high end gives them that more single coil sparkle. You can always warm them up by lowering the tone knob. I also recommend a treble bleed with these to retain the high end, especially if using 1 meg pots. I played around with pickup height quite a bit and feel the sweet spot is around 3/16 of an inch. These pickups have become my whole sound. They have the clarity and articulation of a good single coil with the output and depth of a humbucker. There is nothing I would change about them. I can't wait to get my wrhb jazzmaster pickups.

re the best crunchy blues/blues rock pickups, no matter the position, but they find another level when in series wired with a 4-way switch. These can play Pixies, they can play those Dwight Yoakam leads, they can play Black Keys, dial back the tone and they rip out Gypsy Jazz. Plus you're buying from a great guy who will take care of you. If this review seems disjointed...I kept stopping midway through to go play these things.

about 3 months now and through this time, these P90’s have become my favorite jazz pickup. I’ve come to love them so much, these have been moved/installed in my main gig jazz bass. These pups thump! The tone is a hybrid of jazz, precision, & P90 (60% jazz, 20% precision, 20% P90). I prefer the ergonomics of the jazz bass, but the standard jazz pups tend lack that midrange, warm darkness that is characteristic of the precision sound. With these pickups, you get the best of both worlds AND the added bonus of that P90 tone (crisp & clear w/a hint of overdrive). I commonly recommend these pickups not only to friends, but to other bass players via online groups/forums. These pickups are incredible!!!!

remely rich creamy tones out of the humbucker and a serious bottom. You can literally dial in so many tones (plenty of Tele twang) that it makes it incredibly versatile tool. Jesse’s attention to detail and the quality of his pickups is evident when you unpack them - they are simply something that was made with a lot of attention to detail and love. in the early 80s. This was a very tricky job, because the original was an epoxy-potted pickup - there was no way to simply repair it. Jesse was extremely helpful in communicating what options were available, things to look out for, and what he would need for the rebuild. In the end, Jesse was able to build a replacement into a new pickup cover that I provided, plus the original magnet. He wound it specifically to match the special low-impedance design of the original, and even custom-designed and 3D-printed a new bobbin to fit perfectly in the new cover. I A/B'd it with an actual ALEMBIC guitar pickup from a vintage Series 1 (!), and I could not tell a difference. No joke. And Jesse did it all at an amazingly reasonable price. Extremely impressive work - Jesse really went above and beyond. I very highly recommend Jesse's repair/rebuild services!

n of this thing. I ordered this as purely for the neck pickup which I typically never use ( mostly punk/indie music). I now alternate between the neck Big Six and the V90 in the bridge ( separate review for how awesome that pick up is as well). The output is full unlike typical single coils. It makes for beautiful cleans and sounds really great with my Orange amp and a little dirt on it. My biggest problem after buying this is now deciding what new Revel pickups I am going to put into my ES-335. Also, I cannot say enough about how easy it was to work with Jesse. He is super communicative and you can tell he really cares that you are happy with your purchase.

I used. He answered my questions. Then Jesse mentioned that he could under wind the neck pickup, and explained what that would do for me. I am so glad I took his suggestion. I love these pickups, and that neck pickup is perfect….. just perfect!! I just finished playing today on a Saturday Sept 16 2023 about 3 years after buying these and thought it was time to write a review about these pickups. I am so glad I chose Revel pickups over the other options out there. If you know WRHB’s and what they are supposed to sound like, you’ll love these. they are exactly what I was hoping for. that the Gibson EB neck pickup so masterfully can capture, but adding this Revel pickup to the bridge has made my bass so much more versatile. It is clear, it is bright, it sustains, it cuts through the mix and shines. It feels like I have a whole new bass with the option to use this thing. I love it so much, and I've been gravitating toward using it alone frequently. And, by the way, that gold foil look is pretty dang cool looking.

get a little more clarity & definition while keeping a pretty fat tone. I took a chance on the humdinger noiseless version, but I was concerned the noiseless treatment would lose something of what I love about a P90. It didn't. I couldn't be happier. This is a great P90 in a humbucker shape and it's miraculously noiseless but still brash, ballsy - with a bit tighter note definition and more brilliance on the low strings than the humbucker I had there before. I don't know what secret sauce Jesse is using, but it works. This is a stunningly great pickup.

guitar, but hate the muddy sound coming out. After seeing a few YouTube videos about the true nature of the reissued pickups, I found Revel via Google search and took the plunge. Jesse is a treat to work with. He answered all of my dumb questions and turned the pickups around in no time. Once the pickups were installed, the Starcaster came ripping back to life. There is clarity, fullness, and warmth. I just can't find the words to describe how much I love the sound of this guitar. The neck pickup is sooo much better. The guitar just sounds enormous when distorted. I can't believe what a little wire, magnets, and expert hands can do. Thank you, Jesse. A throwaway has now become my go to.

the vibrato system. The Midnight Riders made a phenomenal difference in clarity and chime that you just can’t find in mid-grade pickups. I’m a straight-into-a-tube-amp-player and these sound fantastic on every single amp I have. I’d really love to hear them in a Les Paul!!!!
